COMPOSITES MATERIALS:

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

BARYMAT® BAX3-2C

  • 1.6 lb/ft2 embossed PVC Barrier
  • ½” open cell polyester urethane foam
  • 3 mil acrylic PSA with a 76lb poly coated Kraft release liner
  • BAX3-2C is custom engineered based on the particular sound level and frequency of the application and is particularly effective as a barrier in the mid- to low-frequencies.
  • Typical applications would include interior treatments for commercial, off-highway, military, and utility vehicles as well as appliances.

BARYMAT® BTRLAX5-22A

  • Reinforced foil facing
  • ½” urethane sound absorbing foam
  • 0.8 lb/ft2 PVC barrier
  • ½” urethane sound absorbing foam
  • 5 mil acrylic PSA with polycoated release liner
  • Custom engineered for applications where a combination of mid to low frequency sound absorption and sound transmission loss are required.
  • The composite is faced with a heat reflective reinforced foil which acts as both a diaphragm to tune the absorber and as protection against moisture and other contaminants. This composite with all edges foil taped will comply with the Docket 90A specification.
  • This composite has an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive with good initial tack and holding power.

BARYMAT® BYYUF-13B

  • Urethane film facing
  • 2 ¾” Sound absorbing polyether urethane open cell foam
  • 3 1.0 lb/ft2 PVC barrier
  • 4 ¼” Polyether urethane open cell foam decoupler
  • Custom engineered for application in a generator set or diesel engine compartment where a combination of mid to high frequency sound absorption and sound transmission loss are required.
  • The composite is faced with a very tough and flexible urethane film which acts as both a diaphragm to tune the absorber and as protection against moisture and other contaminants.

ANTIVIBE® DFAX3-100/125

  • Open cell polyester urethane acoustical foam
  • 3 mil acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive
  • Plastic damping sheet
  • 3 mil acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive with poly-coated paper release liner
  • Antivibe® DFAX3-100/125 combines an extensional layer vibration damping system with a highly sound absorptive foam layer.
  • This material is ideal for situations when vibration damping and sound absorption are required.
  • Typical applications include vehicle door and roof panels, machinery and appliance panels and enclosures.

CONASORB® FC SERIES

  • Decorative Carpet
  • 2 Open cell polyester urethane acoustical foam
  • This product is suitable as a sound absorbing and thermal insulating material for the interior of commercial and off-highway vehicles and is available in various thicknesses.
  • The aesthetically pleasing non-woven polyester carpet provides a decorative and robust wear-resistance surface.
  • Typical applications include cab interior and trim panels.

CONASORB® YTMM SERIES

  • Metalized totally adhered polyester film facing
  • Open cell polyether urethane acoustical foam
  • The open cell acoustical foam is faced with a metalized polyester film facing which acts as both a diaphragm to tune the absorber and as protection against moisture and other contaminants.
  • The reflective metalized polyester facing will provide heat reflection as well.
  • Typical applications would include engine compartment treatments in heavy trucks, buses, RVs, off-highway, and military vehicles.

BARRIER FOAM

  • Flexible PVC Vinyl
  • Open cell polyether urethane acoustical foam
  • We carry a variety of barriers that can be combined with foam and other facings to create an enhanced acoustical product. Barriers are typically made out of flexible PVC vinyl
  • Temp Range: -40° to 220°F
  • Tensile Strength: 18psi

PERFORATED VINYL COMPOSITE

  • Perforated Vinyl
  • Open cell polyether urethane acoustical foam
  • This material is a composite of polyether foam and a 14% perforated vinyl. The combination of the foam and vinyl allow this material to provide strong acoustical properties while still being able to meet flammability requirements
  • Temp Range: -20° to 200°F
  • Tensile Strength: 35 lbs

VINYL COMPOSITE

  • Solid Vinyl
  • Open cell polyether urethane acoustical foam
  • Vinyl composites are made of a solid vinyl and polyether foam. The vinyl is supported by synthetic knitted backing fabric and can come in a variety of colors and styles. This composite is typically used in acoustic applications.
  • Temp Range: -40° to 200°F
  • Tensile Strength: 25 psi

LOADED VINYL MATTING

  • Deep Twist Vinyl
  • PVC Barrier
  • Closed Cell Foam
  • Load vinyl matting is a deep twist vinyl applied to a closed cell foam. The vinyl provides the necessary toughness while the foam provides the cushioning. This composite can have a barrier added to provide additional acoustic benefits
  • Temp Range: -40° to 200°F
  • Tensile Strength: 40 psi

PYRAMID MATTING

  • Pyramid Matting
  • PVC Barrier
  • Closed Cell Foam
  • Pyramid matting is a PVC extrusion compound on a closed cell foam. This composite works well for floor mats and foot pads due to the pyramid matting providing toughness and durability
  • Elongation: 150%
  • Tensile Strength: 600 psi

Customers Who Trust Blachford Acoustics Group

“Blachford eliminated SKUs. Across product families, the reduction of one SKU is a $10k savings. Blachford eliminated 14 SKUs.”

– Noise Control Research Engineer – Construction Equipment Manufacturer

“The first project with Blachford, it was a definite quality improvement, and it was over a million dollar yearly cost savings for just the purchase parts themselves. We went from 28 (SKU) parts to 14.”

– Design Engineer – Heavy Equipment Manufacturer

“Noise is important to brand image. It is one of the top factors along with driveability and reliability. Acoustics – it’s a 4 out of 5, it might even be a 5 in importance projecting the image, the brand, and the quality that we want projected to the market.”

– Design Engineer – Truck Manufacturer

“Our ten-fold growth prior to our acquisition was expedited by our working relationship with Blachford.”

– Design Engineer

“For our shareholders, we have to produce a product at the lowest cost, at the right level of quality and sell it at the highest price we can. We look for suppliers who can help us do that. Blachford helps us do that.”

– Global Procurement Manager – Construction Equipment Manufacturer

“When a company does a spec, boundary conditions like humidity that day, temperature, that all matters. ASPM national or international spec. We try to verify where we can, but we don’t even have the equipment they have. We trust their specifications. Blachford brings innovative ideas, processes, materials, and offerings we value.”

– Design Engineer – Truck Manufacturer

“Then, bringing them in at the beginning with our new product design, it probably saved 6-12 months of development. We didn’t just wa nt the spec sheet value. We wanted customers to get in the machine and experience the difference.”

– Design Engineer – Heavy Equipment Manufacturer

“If we have an acoustics issue, we will reach out to Blachford since they are the experts. It saves us money because we do not have to keep an acoustic expert on site with an annual salary, with benefits, of $125K.”

– Design Engineer – Truck Manufacturer

“As a mechanical engineer, we make stuff that is practical and affordable and Blachford’s materials routinely help me reach these goals.”

– Design Engineer

“We [purchasing department] reported savings of $100k annually from moving to the die-cut solution using Blachford.”
